Ciaran Martin on NCSC’s Role and Cybersecurity Activities

On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, the Strauss Center welcomed Ciaran Martin, CEO of the United Kingdom’s National Cyber Security Centre, for a virtual talk on overview of NCSC’s role and activities to the Strauss Center students of UT Austin in the second of our World Affairs Speaker Series.
Ciaran Martin moved into his role as CEO of the NCSC in March 2016 from his position as GCHQ’s Director General for Cyber Security. As CEO NCSC, Ciaran leads the new public-facing London centre whose purpose is to bring together the UK’s cyber expertise to make the UK the safest place to live and do business online. Prior to his role at GCHQ, Ciaran spent eight years in the Cabinet Office as Constitution Director, Director of Security and Intelligence and Principal Private Secretary to the Cabinet Secretary.
