Glenn Kessler, Washington Post foreign policy correspondent, discussed his new book, The Confidante, about Condeleeza Rice and the challenges that she has faced in her tenure as Secretary of State. Kessler offered his insights gleaned from personal communication with the Secretary and his years covering US foreign policy. He discussed how decisions made when Rice was National Security Advisor hindered her later efforts at State in dealing with complex and important issues regarding North Korean nuclear proliferation and cooperation with Iran over security in Iraq.
