The War Tapes Screening with Sergeant Stephen Pink

February 11, 2008 |  7:00:00  |  Welch Hall, Room 1.316

The War Tapes, a documentary filmed from the perspective of three National Guardsmen on their tour of duty in Iraq, was screened in front of an audience of UT students, faculty and members of the Austin community. The film chronicled the personal sacrifice and courage of the soldiers from the beginning to the end of their year-long tour of duty in Iraq as well as the experiences of their families back home. The film also touched upon the challenges of fighting an insurgency amongst civilians and the motives for U.S. involvement in Iraq. After the screening, Sgt. Stephen Pink, one of the three soldiers featured in the documentary, discussed his time there and answered questions from the audience.
