The Central American Migrant Risk Database (CAMRD) is composed entirely of crimes committed against migrants in Mexico and features data points found in local and regional Mexican newspapers. The database was first constructed by MA students from the LBJ School of Public Affairs as part of a Policy Research Project class on Central American migration, and was expanded by a second group of Austin high school students who completed a data collection summer internship through the Mexico Security Initiative. More information on the database can be found in the Appendix of the 2018 report on the Impact of Securitization on Central American Migrants. The database will be published here in full in Winter/Spring 2019.
