Oct 7, 2021 | Asia Policy Program
Professor Rana Siu Inboden, a Senior Fellow with the Strauss Center, recently joined Justin Kempf of the Democracy Paradox podcast to speak about China’s role in the international human rights regime and the findings from her book, China and the International Human Rights Regime: 1982-2017. The podcast explores China’s role during the formation of the UN Human Rights Council and ways China seeks to blunt the impact of international human rights scrutiny. The podcasts discusses ways that China’s conduct in the international human rights system has become more muscular under Xi JInping as China more vigorously resists aspects of the international human rights regime.
