Bart Huffman is a partner in the IP, Tech & Data Group of the international law firm Reed Smith. He has a systems engineering background and experience in privacy and information security matters that spans the modern history of the practice area. Bart provides advice concerning a wide range of matters within his field, including privacy and cybersecurity compliance and program development, enterprise cloud computing and other IT services agreements, company policies, information security preparedness, and data breach response. He regularly works and speaks on privacy and security matters for the energy, financial, and transportation industries, and for other critical infrastructure. He also has a proven track record in significant online copyright and litigation matters. Bart holds a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.S.E. from Princeton University in Civil Engineering & Operations Research with a Certificate in Engineering and Management Systems. He has served as a visiting fellow of the Center for Information Technology at Princeton University, and he is certified as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US by the International Association of Privacy Professionals, for which he serves on its Certifications Advisory Board. He has been appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott to serve as a member of the Texas Privacy Protection Advisory Council. Bart is admitted to practice in Texas, New York, and California, and before numerous U.S. federal district and appellate courts, and he is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
