Jonathan Slack

Cyber Fellow |

Jonathan Slack received both his J.D. from the University of Texas and his M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech in May 2019. He is currently an associate attorney at Sidley Austin’s Dallas office, specializing in intellectual-property litigation and cybersecurity. Through his graduate studies, Jonathan explored both the technical and non-technical sides of cybersecurity—as one colleague quipped, “Don’t let the J.D. fool you. Jonathan is still a nerd. He speaks Dolphin.” To cap off his cyber education, Jonathan participated in the Atlantic Council’s Cyber Strategy Challenges; his team won the regional competition and reached the semifinals at the national level. In 2018, Jonathan interned for the Department of Justice, where he worked primarily on cyber-intelligence matters. After a 2020 clerkship, Jonathan intends to practice cybersecurity law and policy and is open to both government and private-sector positions.
