Dr. Michael Tierney is the Weingartner Associate Professor of Government and Director of the International Relations Programs and The Institute for the Theory and Practice of International Relations at the College of William & Mary. A leading scholar on international organizations and global development aid, he has published two books Greening Aid? Understanding the Environmental Impact of Development Assistance and Delegation and Agency in International Organizations. Dr. Tierney’s articles appear in such journals as International Organization, Review of International Political Economy, and Foreign Policy. He co-directs, with Robert Hicks and Timmons Roberts, the Project-Level Aid Database program. Dr. Tierney received his PhD in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego.
