As the Strauss Center’s flagship speaker series, the International Security Speaker Series (ISSS) features leading scholars and policy practitioners sharing their expertise on the global policy challenges faced by the United States and the world. The interdisciplinary speakers series hosts speakers from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds, and have spoken on subjects including China’s financial influence, intelligence reform, energy security, the future of violence, U.S.-Russian relations, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, to name just a few.

The audience for the ISSS is just as varied as the topics covered, and the Strauss Center continues to promote involvement from students, faculty, and staff across the UT campus as well as UT alumni and members of the Austin-area public. Free and open to the public, the lectures are held on the University of Texas campus.
