Professor Robert M. Chesney was recently appointed to the inaugural Cybersecurity Advisory Committee of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA). Professor Chesney is the Director of the Strauss Center, and holds the James Baker Chair and serves as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Texas School of Law. In his role on the new committee, Professor Chesney and his twenty-two fellow committee members “will advise and provide recommendations to the Director on policies, programs, planning, and training to enhance the nation’s cyber defense.” As noted by CISA Director Jen Easterly, the U.S. is at a “pivotal moment” in its history—a moment when cyber threats have become increasingly sophisticated. By providing recommendations on a range of cyber issues, Professor Chesney and his colleagues will help to reshape “the cyber ecosystem to favor defense.” Read the full press release on the new committee here.
