Robert Childers

Cybersecurity Clinic Student

Robert Childers is a Computer Science student studying at The University of Texas at Austin, with a specialization in cybersecurity. He serves as a Team Lead at the UT Regional Security Operations Center, part of the university’s Information Security Office, where he helps deliver managed security services to more than 900 client organizations across Texas, including school districts, municipalities, and public universities. 

Robert also competes on UT’s HASH team in the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition and the Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition. He holds the Network+ and the HTB Certified Defensive Security Analyst credential and is pursuing further offensive security certification. Outside of coursework, he builds out his own home network lab, practices archery, and reads ancient mythology. He looks forward to bringing operational cybersecurity experience to Texas organizations that have not had the resources to build a security program of their own.
