The Strauss Center, LBJ School, and Center for East Asian Studies welcome Dr. Ren Xiao (Fudan University) to discuss “China’s Korea Problem.” China has repeatedly engaged in political and military conflicts in Korea. Chinese leaders want to avoid another Korean war and seek a denuclearized peninsula. However, North Korea’s nuclear programs have compelled Chinese leaders to rethink their approach. Dr. Ren will discuss how the country might respond to this growing regional threat. The event is free and open to the public.

Professor Ren specializes in Korean studies and Chinese diplomacy, and has authored a number of books and articles in Chinese and English.
