Isabel Ayala, a Strauss Center 2021-2022 Brumley Next Generation Scholar, has been awarded the Schwarzman Scholarship. She is one of two seniors at the University of Texas at Austin to receive this prestigious honor that funds one year of graduate study at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. Her academic and professional interests revolve around the security implications of bilateral and multilateral relationships in the Asia-Pacific region. At Tsinghua University, Isabel is specifically interested in understanding China’s role in regional alliances and international organizations.
