Addie Mae Villas

National Security Law Fellow

Addie Mae Villas is a rising 2L at The University of Texas School of Law. She is a graduate of New York University Abu Dhabi, where she studied Political Science, Legal Studies, and Arabic, and Tsinghua University, where she earned her master’s in Global Affairs as a Schwarzman Scholar. Her master’s thesis focused on China’s relationship to the international rule of law. That work studying U.S.-China strategic competition firsthand, as well as her time in the Arab World, has shaped her interest in national security and foreign policy. This past summer, Addie Mae served as a Volunteer Legal Intern in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Foreign Litigation and International Judicial Assistance.

At Texas Law, she is an Articles Editor for the Texas Review of Law & Politics, Bowden Student Fellow, Competition Director for the Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition, and holds board positions with the Texas Federalist Society and Law Students for Life.
