Aliaa Helal is a law student in the class of 2028 at The University of Texas School of Law. She graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminology. Before law school, Aliaa has worked in the technology sector in Trust & Safety and operations, with experience in counterterrorism, child safety, policy enforcement, operational risk, and cross-functional initiatives. Her professional experience working at the intersection of technology, safety, and policy shaped her interests in national security law, cybersecurity, privacy, and artificial intelligence governance. At Texas Law, Aliaa is particularly interested in how emerging technologies are reshaping legal and regulatory approaches to national security, privacy, and risk.
