Aria Stiefelmaier is a Master of Global Policy Studies candidate at the University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ School of Public Affairs, concentrating in Security, Law, and Diplomacy. She earned her B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Russian language and area studies from Texas Tech University. Aria has held internships with the Department of Justice, Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia’s office, and Cheniere Energy’s Government Affairs team. Her academic and professional experiences have centered on national security, including research she co-authored on a study of foreign fighters in the Russia-Ukraine War. Aria is particularly interested in counterterrorism and counterintelligence and hopes to pursue a career as an intelligence analyst contributing to U.S. national security.
As a Brumley Fellow, Aria will be mentored by Strauss Center Faculty Fellow Michael Dennis.
