Grant Weston

Industry Expert, Texas Cybersecurity Clinic

Grant Weston is Senior Enterprise Security Architect for General Motors driving cybersecurity strategy and compliance focusing on application security. He provides cybersecurity reviews for software supply chain security processes, enterprise network security controls, standardized architecture design patterns, data privacy, and artificial intelligence use. Prior to this role, he was a lead engineer for several development teams designing application specific security controls to reduce risk for processing personal information. 

Grant spent 20 years in the U.S. Army serving in various leadership positions including instructor for a leadership academy, company First Sergeant, before retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer.  He served one tour in Afghanistan and two in Iraq.   During this time, he trained and mentored hundreds of Soldiers to become leaders in their domains of expertise. 

Grant’s educational background includes a Master of Science in Information Security and Privacy and a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Computer Science with a Cybersecurity Concentration from the University of Texas at Austin.
