Keilani Fujii

Cybersecurity Clinic Student

Keilani Fujii is a sophomore at The University of Texas at Austin pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Cybersecurity and a minor in Statistics and Data Science. Her interest in cybersecurity began with observing the 2020 SolarWinds cyberattack firsthand and seeing how a single vulnerability could have far-reaching consequences for an entire company and its customers, sparking her curiosity about how vulnerabilities emerge and how interconnected systems can be better protected. Through her coursework in Computer Architecture and Operating Systems and her work as an undergraduate research assistant in the Autonomous Robots Lab, she has developed a strong foundation in computer systems, machine learning, and complex systems. This fall, she will further explore the intersection of AI, data, and security by helping build a Retrieval-Augmented Generation system for an agentic AI startup.

Her commitment to protecting people extends beyond technology; through outreach for Senior Medicare Patrol Hawaii, she helped educate kūpuna (elderly) about scams, fraud, and ways to protect themselves from exploitation. She hopes to bring both her technical background and people-centered perspective to the Texas Cybersecurity Clinic, developing practical skills in identifying vulnerabilities and helping organizations build more secure and resilient systems. 

Outside of academics, Keilani is involved in Women in Computer Science, the Information & Systems Security Society, and Texas Product Catalyst. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting plushies, traveling, trying new matcha and boba shops, and spending time with family and friends.
