Sophie is a junior at The University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Informatics with a concentration in Human-Centered Data Science and a certificate in Programming and Computing. Her interest in cybersecurity stems from her desire to better understand how technology, law, and governance intersect, as well as how secure and ethical systems can protect individuals and organizations. She is particularly interested in how cybersecurity policy, data privacy, and human-centered design can shape responsible and effective technology practices.
Sophie strives to bring a global and applied perspective to her studies, having completed an exchange at University College London where she focused on data science-related coursework. She is also involved in the NASA GeneLab Multi-Omics Analysis Working Group, where she contributes to projects at the intersection of technology, real-world space data, and applied research.
Outside of academics, she enjoys traveling, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends!
