Strauss Center Hosts Texas Cyber Command in Cyber Resilience Roundtable

August 13, 2026

The Strauss Center for International Security and Law co-hosted a roundtable with ON2IT Cybersecurity and the Center for Cybersecurity Policy and Law focused on cybersecurity resilience in Texas, and featuring leaders of the Texas Cyber Command as well as state legislators dedicated to improving the cybersecurity and national security posture of the state. Participants explored expanding shared services to smaller public entities, improving coordination during incidents, and building trusted relationships among cybersecurity leaders. They also examined how artificial intelligence is reshaping the threat landscape, why workforce development remains critical, and how collaboration among government, universities, and the private sector can strengthen the state’s defenses. The Center for Cybersecurity Policy and Law developed a report with the findings from the roundtable, outlining how to turn the momentum of the recently-established Texas Cyber Command into coordinated, sustained action.
