Jose Torres, graduate of the Strauss Center’s Texas Cybersecurity Clinic, was recently featured by Google in their Cybersecurity Clinics Fund Impact Report, shared in an announcement earlier this month highlighting Google’s Fairwind Program. Jose discovered his passion for cybersecurity through the cyber clinic, joining its inaugural class in 2023. He gained hands-on experience helping a local city government outside San Antonio assess vulnerabilities and strengthen cybersecurity systems serving more than 100,000 residents.
Google’s Fairwind Program provides a trusted group of government agencies, Google Cloud customers, and cybersecurity partners access to advanced AI tools designed to autonomously identify, verify, and fix software vulnerabilities. The program builds on Google’s broader community cybersecurity efforts, including $36 million supporting U.S. cyber clinics—including the Texas Cybersecurity Clinic— that provide hands-on security assistance to hospitals, schools, and municipal utilities.
