The Strauss Center’s Cyber Fellows program provides mentorship and research support to UT Austin graduate students interested in delving into the world of cybersecurity (see more here if you’re interested in applying). We like to check in with our former Cyber Fellows to share their experiences post-program, and today we have an update from Brenda Kodawa:
Just after finishing the program, Brenda completed the Certified Information Privacy Professional certification program, marking her as an expert in data privacy jurisdictional laws, regulations and enforcement models, and legal requirements for handling and transferring data. She then passed the Texas Bar Exam and is now Corporate Counsel with a FinTech startup based in Virginia. In this role, Brenda addresses corporate legal matters, more specifically, data privacy issues and cyber security compliance.
Congratulations to Brenda on the myriad accomplishments she’s garnered in such a short time, and we look forward to seeing the great work she’ll do next!
