Deborah Chu is a rising senior, majoring in Government and Plan II Honors, with a minor in Business & Public Policy and a certificate in Core Texts & Ideas. A graduate of the Texas Cybersecurity Clinic, Deborah has worked in multiple cybersecurity and technology policy roles across the private sector and in state and local government. She is the Founder and Executive Director of CyberServe USA, a national nonprofit dedicated to providing digital safety education to vulnerable populations.
In summer 2026, Deborah is interning with the Department of Justice U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. When back on campus as a Brumley Scholar, Deborah plans to examine the legal frameworks and gaps surrounding foreign pre-positioning within U.S. civilian critical infrastructure systems, with an emphasis on developing policy solutions that strengthen national resilience while mitigating risk. After graduation, Deborah hopes to pursue law school and a career in national security and cybersecurity.
