Jules Salinas

Brumley Scholar

Jules Salinas is a rising junior, majoring in International Relations & Global Studies, Government, and Russian, East European, & Eurasian Studies. He is a Liberal Arts Honors Distinguished Scholar and is pursuing minors in History and Security Studies. Jules serves as an editor for the Texas Journal of International Affairs and chairs the International Security Committee of UT Austin’s International Relations & Global Studies Council.

Internationally, Jules has participated in policy and security-focused programs through the Global Governance Institute and the Royal Academy of Belgium in Brussels. On campus, Jules currently conducts open-source and geospatial research on Russian military, economic, and political developments for the Intelligence Studies Project’s Tearline research team.

As a Brumley Scholar, Jules’ research interests are in physical security and the protection of U.S. assets and diplomatic operations overseas.
