Kaitlin Skipper

Cybersecurity Clinic Student

Kaitlin Skipper is a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Informatics, with a concentration in Human-Centered Data Science and a minor in Business Foundations. Her interest in cybersecurity started with independent learning and reading about phishing and threat detection outside of class, before she eventually shifted toward security operations through projects and coursework. What keeps her interested is less the technical side and more the human one, such as why people fall for scams and how organizations can design around that instead of just building higher walls. On campus, Kaitlin serves as the Outreach Officer for Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS), where she helps connect members with opportunities to explore cybersecurity and build professional relationships. She is also involved in the Information Systems and Security Society (ISSS), Alpha Kappa Psi, and Tri Delta, where she participates in professional development, leadership, and philanthropic events. Outside of school, she enjoys yoga, reading, and is working her way through a list of recipes she wants to try.
