Nancy Ramirez is a junior at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and a minor in National Security and International Business. She is particularly interested in the intersection between cybersecurity and intelligence and how that affects national security.
Raised in a border town, Nancy is a native Spanish speaker with experience providing informal translation and interpretation. Growing up bilingual has inspired her to explore how language can connect people and foster relationships.
Last summer, Nancy participated in the Texas Intelligence Academy in Washington, D.C., where she learned about intelligence directly from industry leaders. Through a mix of lectures, discussions, readings, and on-site visits, she gained a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the role the intelligence community plays in national security.
After graduation, she aspires to join the National Security Agency, where she hopes to help intercept and translate signals intelligence into actionable information for policymakers.
