Gala in Honor of the Admiral Bobby R. Inman Chair in Intelligence Studies

May 24, 2016 |

On April 29, UT Austin President Gregory L. Fenves, along with the Strauss and Clements Centers, hosted a gala dinner honoring Admiral Bobby R. Inman. It was a special evening, and all proceeds from the event are helping create the Admiral Bobby R. Inman Chair in Intelligence Studies. So far, $600,000 has been raised toward the $4 million endowment goal.

With former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates as the keynote speaker, Distinguished Alumnus Red McCombs the honorary gala chair, and other dignitaries, including Gen. Michael Hayden and Sen. John Cornyn, on hand to honor the admiral, it was a memorable evening. We invite you to view photos from the gala, as well as this video tribute to Admiral Inman.

The Inman Chair will support research and teaching to help prepare students who wish to serve as intelligence professionals and leaders. As Dr. Gates said so well, the chair will be the cornerstone for this joint venture, the Intelligence Studies Project, and honors Bobby Inman by carrying forward his legacy of leadership and public service. If you wish to contribute at any time, your generosity will be greatly appreciated and will get us that much closer to funding the Inman Chair.
