Cybersecurity Clinic Students Awarded Scholarship in Excellence

Two Texas Cybersecurity Clinic students, Deborah Chu and Meera Hatangadi, were awarded theTexas Cybersecurity Clinic Excellence Award in honor of their performance in the Spring 2025 – Fall 2025 cohort of the Clinic. This award is made possible through the generosity of Socium Solutions. The Strauss Center for International Security and Law extends special thanks to Tam Nguyen, Chief Executive Officer at Socium Solutions, and Jeffrey Baker, Chief Technology Officer at Socium Solutions and Clinic Senior Industry Expert Mentor, for spearheading this effort in support of students in the Clinic!

The Texas Cybersecurity Clinic is a two-course sequence that trains students in key cybersecurity defense concepts and skills, and then pairs students with Texas-area institutions in need of cybersecurity support. This year, Deborah and Meera went above and beyond. Through their dedication, continuous learning, and cybersecurity improvement projects completed for their clients alongside their teammates, they became not only defenders of their client’s environment, but trusted partners to their client organizations.

Deborah Chu is pursing a Bachelor of Arts in Government as well as in Plan II Honors, with minors in Business and Public Policy, and Korean. Meera Hatangadi is pursing a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communications, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Plan II Honors and in International Relations and Global Studies.
