Moxie Broz is a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Informatics with a concentration in Human-Centered Data Science. Their interest in cybersecurity started in high school through attending summer camps at Texas A&M and UT Austin’s GenCyber through Texas Advanced Computing Center. Since then, they have independently pursued further education in cybersecurity by obtaining certifications. In their first semester of freshman year, they went abroad through UT Austin’s Take the World by the Horns Program to Seoul, South Korea, studying at Hanyang University with a focus on society and technology.
Moxie plans to enter the cybersecurity field, leveraging what they have learned from informatics to create accessible and equitable security solutions for those in need. They are particularly interested in the intersection of society, technology, and information, and what that means for cybersecurity, while keeping ethical considerations at the forefront.
Outside of their academic interests, Moxie enjoys the local emo music scene, creating art, and playing video games.
