Jacob is an active-duty Major in the U.S. Army JAG Corps and is currently pursuing an LL.M. in Cybersecurity Law at the University of Texas School of Law. Immediately prior to attending the University of Texas, he graduated from The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School, U.S. Army, with an LL.M. in Military Law. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from West Virginia University in 2012, where he graduated Order of the Coif, and also served as a Senior Editor for the West Virginia Law Review. During law school, Jacob studied international trade and comparative business law in South Korea for one summer. Prior to law school, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a History minor from Westminster College (Pa) in 2009, where he graduated with honors. During college, Jacob studied abroad for a semester at Oxford University where he focused on English history and literature. After graduating law school, Jacob served as a judicial law clerk and then as a litigation associate at a law firm before joining the Army. Since joining the Army, he has served in various administrative and operational roles, including assignments in Missouri, New York, Germany, and Qatar. After completion of his degree from the University of Texas in 2026, Jacob will continue his active-duty service in the Army.
