Niebuhr believed in an “Atlantic community” with shared values, shared interests, and shared obligations. He devoted much of his life to strengthening the transatlantic relationship. In this paper, Inboden encourages another look at Niebuhr’s life and thought for important lessons in understanding transatlantic relations today.
