About the Program

Partnering with UT’s Moody College of Communications

The Strauss Center’s newest initiative is Journalism and World Affairs (JAWA).  This partnership with the School of Journalism at UT’s Moody College of Communications aims to enrich the experience of journalism students interested in foreign affairs, national security, technology, and related matters through the Distinguished Journalist in Residence program.  Each semester, the Distinguished Journalist in Residence program will bring a leading journalist to campus for a short-term residency involving mentoring, guest teaching, and a public address. Nicole Perlroth of the New York Times served as the inaugural Distinguished Journalist in Residence in February 2020.
