Frank Gavin Reflects on the Idea of Being Wrong
Jul 22, 2022 | Other
Frank Gavin, a Strauss Center Distinguished Scholar, recently published an article in the Texas National Security Review titled “Is Being Wrong So Bad?” In it, he contemplates being wrong, the value of academic debate, and the importance of society looking at itself in the mirror. He argues that a society where loud and impolite academic and policy debates are allowed is one worth defending and, in the long run, is likely to be more effective. The Texas National Security Review is co-sponsored by the Strauss and Clements Centers. You can read his full essay here.
