Strauss Seeking Part-time Graduate Senior Student Associate

Dec 10, 2021 |

Applications are now open to graduate students for one part-time Senior Student Associate position at the Strauss Center for International Security and Law. Beyond sharpening their writing and organizational skills, this position offers students a way to become more involved in security, intelligence, and foreign policy scholarship at the University.

We are looking for assistance in the following: event coordination (ex: catering setup, helping at the event registration desk, directing attendees to seating, etc.), writing article summaries (see the News page on our site for examples), and maintaining the archive of materials from Ambassador Robert S. Strauss’ storied political career. You’ll often be working events alongside our other Senior Student Associate and the Strauss Center staff.

We are looking for students who are available to work 10-15 hours per week from the beginning of the spring semester to the end of May 2022. We can be slightly flexible on the start and end dates.

Applicants need not be from a government/public affairs/security background, only that they have demonstrated in concrete ways their interest in the international security challenges that the Center studies.

Apply via Handshake here. If you cannot apply via Handshake, please send your CV, cover letter, unofficial transcript, and a one-page writing sample to [email protected].
