The Strauss Center is happy to announce that the University of Texas at Austin is a Westin Scholar school, the result of discussions between the Strauss Center, the Center for Identity, and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). The IAPP has created a fund designed to support students identified by their professors as future leaders in the field of data protection and privacy. The prestigious Westin Scholar Award is granted to one student from each participating school per year to support them in their studies. The IAPP’s Westin Research Center catalogues privacy-centered curricula and programs of universities worldwide to promote academia’s efforts to build up the field of data protection and privacy.
