Kylie Heitzenrater

Cyber Fellow |

Kylie Heitzenrater is a first-year dual-degree Master of Global Policy Studies and Master of Science in Information Studies student at the LBJ School and the iSchool. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in both linguistics and international relations & global studies from UT Austin in 2022. While pursuing her undergraduate studies, Kylie worked on projects such as Dr. Jason Robert’s 2019 Good Systems Russian propaganda analysis and Dr. Jacqueline Angel’s Conference Series on Aging in the Americas. In the summer 2021, she studied Russian language and geopolitical history in Ukraine while finishing a virtual internship with Collegium Civitas, Warsaw, Poland. Her work in the latter was then published in a volume of collected student papers on security and society; and her senior capstone for IRG was a detailed non-technical op-ed on blockchain security. As a Cyber Fellow, Kylie intends to further her interests in propaganda proliferation and implementation, blockchain use cases, and the geopolitics of the internet.
